Introductory Program
This program is designed for people who have never danced before and welcomes you to the world of ballroom dancing. Featuring 6 of the most popular Ballroom and Latin dance styles, it is a sampler and gives you the foundations for a variety of dances so that you can dance to a variety of music no matter what the situation! Most of our students begin with our Introductory Program.
The Introductory Program is 12 weeks long and it is divided into two 6-week classes: the Intro to Tango, Waltz and Swing and the Intro to Foxtrot, Rumba and Salsa.
Each of these classes is $108 per person for the full set of six 55-minute classes. Tax is included in all our pricing.
If you purchase the Full Introductory Program (both classes), you get 20% off the total cost and you then have up to a year to take the second class.
Introductory Program Schedule
Introductory Classes begin every six weeks and are held on Tuesdays at 6:30 pm and Thursdays at 6:30 pm. (You need to attend only on one of these days for six weeks.) For example:
Intro TWS - starts Tuesday, Jan. 1 and will run on Tuesdays for six weeks
Intro FRS - starts Thursday, Jan. 3 and will run on Thursdays for six weeks
These classes switch days every six weeks so if one day works better for you than the other, you will be able to attend the Full 12-Week Introductory Program on the same day. You can also take the second class at a future date if you can't make 12 consecutive weeks.
Please check our calendar for the next starting dates.

Next Steps…
BRONZE 1
Once you’ve completed the Intro Program, you’re ready to begin Bronze 1 classes. Bronze 1 classes focus on a single dance over six weeks of instruction. This allows you to review and build muscle memory for your foundation steps as well as learn new patterns. We also start to work on more advanced ideas in leading and following, floor-craft (how to get around a crowded dance floor) and styling.
BRONZE 2 AND BEYOND …
At this point you have an interesting variety of patterns to dance, and while you’re not quite ready to lead or follow someone brand new, you are ready to learn a few more dances that require a higher skill level.
REPETITION OF CLASSES
Becoming a better dancer is an ongoing journey; and a fun one at that! As you advance in levels you will find repeating classes very useful to help you remember patterns and skills and to keep your technique sharp. We highly recommend repeating classes previously taken as a means to building muscle memory and adding layers of depth to your dancing. You will find that you will learn something new every time!
TIPS FOR TAKING GROUP CLASSES
When taking a class for the first time, focus on the pattern of the steps. Our instructors are trained to give everyone in the class something to work on and the pattern is what students taking the class for the first time should try to master. When you take a class for the second time, focus on the lead/follow as well as clear timing. If you have mastered the pattern and timing, try to add more personality and character to your dancing by focusing on the styling and accents of the steps.
Dancing is a personal journey and everyone learns at their own pace. There is no rush as there is no final destination. Dancing is a skill that can be enjoyed for the rest of your life – enjoy the ride, ahem, dance!
