About Us
At Dancing for Dessert, we create a warm, welcoming, and safe space where everyone feels free to express themselves in our Langley dance studio. Our goal is to build a thriving community of dancers who leave each visit feeling inspired and supported.
We offer dance classes and private dance lessons for all skill levels in styles like Salsa, Cha Cha, Waltz, Tango, Rumba, and Foxtrot—basically, if it takes two, we do it!
Our Story
How we got here...
Dancing for Dessert Studio was founded in 2005 by long-time dance team Andrew & Magda. Since then it has grown to become the ballroom dancing destination for Langley and the Fraser Valley with a fantastic team of instructors and thousands of students served.
It all started in Vancouver in 1998 where Andrew & Magda first met ballroom dancing and started dancing together. Not long after we were practicing, teaching, competing and traveling the world together.
-
After 4 years of teaching in Vancouver we decided to move to England to further our dancing by training and competing with the best in the world. It was a life changing experience culminating with a trip to the famous Blackpool dance festival where we competed professionally in both standard and Latin.
In 2004 we embarked on a new journey in the cruise industry as featured dance professionals and entertainers. We sailed the Eastern States and Canada with Norwegian Cruise Lines and were the inaugural dance team aboard the Queen Mary II, the biggest ship in the world at the time.
Back on land in 2005, Magda started a few trial classes around the Lower Mainland, eventually finding a solid foundation in North Langley. Dancing for Dessert Studio was born!
For the first 5 years we taught out of Total Fitness Gym and Willoughby Hall, where we gathered students, staff and equipment. Eventually the need for a space of our own was obvious and in 2009 we moved into our current location in Walnut Grove.
In September of 2015 we celebrated our 10th anniversary as a studio and we have continued to create more and more amazing history in the ensuing years. Thank you so much to all of the students and staff who have made so many amazing contributions along the way.

Our Team
Madga - Studio Director
The driving force behind Dancing for Dessert Studio, Magda has always known she wanted to be a dancer. Polynesian dancing, Flamenco and Ballet are all part of her past, but Ballroom and Latin has always been her passion..
Andrew - Dance Director
Andrew took his first dance lesson in 1997 and began teaching soon after in 1998. It was the beginning of both his career, and his partnership with Magda. Together they danced all around the world, and ultimately found a permanent dance home in Walnut Grove in 2005.
Sharon - Reception
Sharon is the smiling face that welcomes you as you enter the studio! She will be happy to answer your questions, take your payment and register you for your class.
Claire - Instructor
Claire’s dance journey began at age 8 on the playground, teaching friends the latest boy band moves! Years later, she’s still teaching and loves seeing the smiles that light up her students’ faces when they truly “get it.”
Geraldine - Instructor
With an extensive background in ballet, ballroom, Latin, Argentine Tango and with nearly 30 years of teaching experience, Geraldine is one of the most well rounded and sought after dance instructors in the Lower Mainland.
